Wout Van Ackere is a multidiciplinary artist. He graduated his bachelor in Photography and finished his Masters in Fine arts, both in Sint Lucas Antwerp. He is currently mostly focussing on video, performance and sound.

His practice moves between autobiography and fiction, where memory, desire, and self-mythology play a central role. By blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, Wout creates worlds in which identity is continuously rewritten.

His work draws inspiration from cinema and music and explores how nostalgia and romanticization can serve as strategies to give meaning to one's existence. His practice continues to evolve as an ongoing dialogue between self-exploration and illusion.
